Iƒ??m seriously considering packing up and going southwest toward Atlanta. Couldnƒ??t find a hotel room in Columbia, SC, Augusta, or Athens. But this ole black lab we love so much needs to go with us. Looking at VRBO and AirBNB between Columbia and Atlanta that will take dogs.?ÿ

All Georgia State parks are offering free "dry" camping and are pet friendly.

Just read this:

"At least 25 million residents are at risk from the storm and experts predict its current path could cause up to $170 billion worth of damage, hit up to 759,000 homes and businesses and become the costliest storm to ever hit the U.S."

I've been through many hurricanes but if I was in the coastal area of this one I would get the hell out.

The predicted landfall area?ÿlooks really populated and settled.?ÿ I don't think there is much "high" ground for the first few miles inland either.?ÿ Sadly it appears the predictions?ÿyou quoted might not be too far off.?ÿ Let's all say a prayer for them if nothing else.

I'm like you, I'd head west with great haste.?ÿ I can't help but think there are still thousands of folks that don't have the luxury of a packed Tahoe and a Discover Platinum.?ÿ Some?ÿpeople just don't have the resources to "git".?ÿ Let's hope there has been a good local effort to help?ÿout those that maybe can't help themselves. ?ÿ?ÿ

With something like this about to happen I hope they walk, ride a bicycle, skateboard, or any other means of transportation because if they don't they will die or wish they were dead. The National Guard in the Carolinas in currently participating in evacuation of those who don't have the resources to leave. Wish them all well. I have never in my 68 years such bizarre weather as I have seen in the past 10 years. Seems to me humans have really pissed off Mother Nature.?ÿ

I drove over to Western KY today for work. On the way home I was traveling on I-24, then I-57 and eventually I-64. I kid you not, but I stopped counting at 200 Lineman Utility trucks, not to mention the support trucks heading towards the East Coast. Scary.

I leave in the Air Traffic Space of Scott Airforce Base. There have been C-130 and C-17 coming in at a steady pace for the last two days, apparently all from Charleston and Pope AFB.?ÿ

I was just contacted by Energy company looking for any available surveyors/pilots with sUAS Part 107, that can pass a drug test, willing to deploy to the south-east on Sunday for 7-10 shift. They pay an hourly rate plus all expenses.

Nice weather in Lagrange GA. Going to watch some high school Softball, high school soccer, then the pub for wings and beer. After that, headed for an evening on the lake. Great friends in Lagrange have taken us in.?ÿ

They've been landing helicopters at the Air National Guard base here in Marietta too.

Predicted up to 30" of rain.....If any of you folks on the Carolina coast need a place to go you are welcome to come to my place. Specifically those with horses, I have pasture and stalls that can be used. If you have living quarters or campers you are welcome to come hang out with me and the family. I can run extension coords for 4 or 5 campers. The Charlotte Motor Speedway is doing the same as Atlanta but I imagine they will fill up at some point. I'm in Cleveland County.

Adam, doesn't look real good for Cleveland County at this time. I have a place in Yancey County and I'm thinking I might have a lot of gravel drive to repair. Stay safe and watch out for that flooding.

Just thought I would check in to see how all you NC Surveyors are doing. Hope things are getting better. Information has dropped off the national radar.
