I was having a conversation with my dentist this morning who does charity work at another location once a week along with other dentists for those who cannot afford dentisty work. He said it used to be obvious that those who came in the door were truly down and needed assistance. Those people were humble, thankful, and grateful for the program.

Today those needy people are getting overrun by those coming in with Smart phones, designer clothes, jewelry, piercings, tattoos, etc. They are ungrateful, demanding, and just looking for something free. The organization has since had to start screening those coming in.

A well-dressed man recently came in and said he needed free dental work because he said he had no income. An on-line search through the public assessor records showed he owned a $500,000 house. After questioning him, he said he was a real estate agent and didn't have an income, only commission on the houses he sold, therefore without income he felt he was entitled to free dental work.

For whatever reason, people are no longer ashamed to get handouts, and we're all worse off for it.

everyone feels entitled to something now. everyone wants to just do enough to get by.

i know capable people in their 40s who will not work because they believe their inheritance from their parents will provide for them when their parents die. until then they do just enough to get by. sickening.

i know other people who lie about income to stay on WIC/EBT. they are more than happy to keep their kids on gov't insurance while they spend their money on iphones and vacations.

i know a 'single' mom who has been shacked up with the same man for 10 years. she has 3 kids by 3 different dads, none of which is the man that lives with her now. she doesn't work. 5 people live in a 2 bedroom apartment. she exists on child support and doesn't mind to brag about it.

it ain't right but you can't spend too much time pondering on it. just shut up and get my ass back to work. somebody has to.

Cause of "No Income" solved.

Here is one way to fix that stuff. At about 2:15 pm I was No. 513 in my precincts primary. Not sure how many registered voters there are, but there has been a few where I was amongst the first 10 and as high as 2,000.

I don't think any of the folks in line were standing in free soup lines before they got there either. Even though my current income is approaching what it was while I was in college, a little bird on my shoulder called "personal accountability" keeps pecking away.

I forget who on this board has a signature along the lines of "Stop repeat offenders. Quit re-electing them". Classic line IMVHO!!!

No hi-jack intended, but....

Those people waiting for their parents to die should look up how much a nursing home or alzheimer's ward costs per month ... it will drain the inheritance down to nothing with a lean against what's left ... and the lazy kids will get what they deserve.

One of my favorite experiences was standing on line at the supermarket behind a guy who's buying a 30-pack of Natty Ice & a carton of Marlboros, all while sportin' two full sleeves of tats & a spiderweb crawling up his neck out of his collar.

He's in line behind a women, also showing some neat tattoos, who's buying strip steaks, crab legs & shrimp with food stamps.

A few minutes later, they drive off together in his 4WD monster truck.

Gotta love the welfare state. Here in my little upstate village, we're now seeing families with 3 generations who've never exchanged work for pay and a fourth who likely never will.

Cheeses me off, big time.

Lets not get tooo stereotypical. Plenty of people with tatoos work, and I dont know any tatoo artists that will work for food stamps.

If there is a way around it I hope to find that path myself, my favorite uncle had a heart attack at age 72 while parachuting from a airplane and his old buddies filmed it...he never spent a day in the hospital, thats the way to go.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. I'd rather people were there to vote because they had some idea of who they were voting for, not to get their name checked off a list.

The only benefit of uninformed people voting would be a large (hopefully random) vote count that would make it harder for a small faction to rally and win for their candidate or special interest issue.

Key word "citizens"....

...that is a problem in this other amerika. Besides, who would reap the profits from all those "fines". Certainly not the pro-bono dentists, or the food stamp inductees, now would it. Trickle up or trickle down, still winds up on your leg

Never mind. Bad joke to go with a bad mood in a bad week that just ends in another day added to the longest month being February because nobody shot that stupid ground hog..... 😉

Happy Leap Year. I wonder what NGS will do to change the geoid or adjust ECEF to compensate.

i wish no delayed sickness on the family, but it would be karma if it happened that way.

i saw my parents work and save for 50 years, they have a nice secure life now. i saw my mom's brother 'just get by' and bounce from job to job taking a hand out anywhere he could find one. he died broke an miserable and now his family are living the same way.

If you get 2 times what you are worth or deserve then you are an unethical thief.

If you get 1000 times what you are worth or deserve then you are a good businessman.

subsitite "died in bed with a 30 year old" for "parachuting from an airplane" and I'de agree with you.

that's all perception Dave....some people feel I am 'ripping' them off because of what I charge for a survey.
