Hope I loaded this photo correctly. This yote was up in a salt cedar about 20 feet above the ground and had knocked most of the bark off the limb trying to get out.
Any thoughts on how it got up there?
Yeah, it appears he was after something as the limb was fairly thick. I suppose he got to the fork and just slipped in. this is in a salt cedar near the Rio Grande with all sorts of small critters around for the taking
I assume it was dead?
What, no imagination? Obviously that is a Kansas coyote that was caught up in the same tornado as little Dorothy and Toto. He somehow missed the turnoff to Oz.
I'm assuming he was chasing sumpthin'.....
Are you talking about "Coyotnado"!
Run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It sucked to be him that day. I ran across a possum on day that had got stuck in a fence and died that way. I had a can of pink spray paint with me and painted its back end pink. I thought it was funny at the time.
I hope coyotes around here don't learn how to climb trees.
Coyotes in Oklahoma usually stay out of the trees...
but they love hanging around on fence posts.

Wasn't in the same quantity, but I saw something similar around here last summer; line of four coyotes hanging along the fence line in various states of decay. I may have stretched out my shots along the fence a bit far in an area or two to avoid them.
