Mrs. Cow got her first shot this morning about 8:00 a.m.?ÿ Didn't notice much discomfort until evening.?ÿ Then her arm began to throb.?ÿ So, she decided going to bed early would help.?ÿ That plan seems to have worked.?ÿ No other symptoms so far.
We've been on a bit of a rollercoaster here regarding the vaccine.?ÿ
My HMO is prioritizing healthcare workers and 75+ seniors, holding off on 65+ until they've vaccinated all of the older folks.?ÿ They have no estimate of when it'll be my turn.
A neighboring county's public health administration opened their appointments to all comers 65+, so we made appointments for today (Tuesday).?ÿ The idea was that anyone who resided or worked in the county was eligible, but they didn't make that clear on their website.?ÿ After a couple of days they realized that lots of us from next door were signing up, so they cancelled our appointments yesterday.
Today my home county dropped the requirement from 75+ to 65+ and started a mad rush among the public to get appointments.?ÿ We're on again for Saturday.?ÿ
I'll believe it when I feel the poke in my arm.

My wife and SIL got their second shot yesterday. Both are sick. Fever, chills, head aches, and body aches. The SIL had all that after the first shot. My wife only a pain the the arm of the shot. I didn't have any problems wit my first. I get the second shot next Tuesday, so I'll find out. They got the Moderna, I got the Pfizer.
My wife has had both Pfizer, and I got the first Moderna yesterday.?ÿ Minor tender spot in the arm was the worst for both of us.
My wife called the hospital clinic on a tip from a friend, got lucky and got an appointment, so we got our second shots 2 days ago. Both of us had no side affects from the first and just a little sore arms from the second. Many of our friends, over 65 like us, are getting appointments and 1st shots now, so I guess the USVI is ahead of most of the states for vaccines as well as having fewer cases and deaths. I complain all the time about our territorial government, but I think our Governor, our health department and our citizens are doing very well. I'm SO GLAD I live here. I'm not sure how much life will change in the near future. For now, I'm greatly relieved.?ÿ ?ÿ
This morning she said she was stiff throughout her body.?ÿ Nevertheless she has been teaching remotely all morning just fine.
Florida can??t get its act together at all. I??m guessing early 2023 for a shot of anything. ?????ÿ
The understanding at NCDHHS is that federal government rules prohibit denial of vaccine on geographic grounds. Hence, in NC, any state resident is eligible for vaccination in any county, something that many folks have taken advantage of.
In the far northeastern part of the state, we've had a significant number of VA residents cross the border for shots. I don't know what the difference is, but those folks are now put on a waiting list automatically and accommodated if vaccine supply is adequate.
I have an appointment to get my second Pfizer vaccination on the 12th.?ÿ ?ÿWe got tested today in Costa Rica so we have results before our flight to LAX on Saturday.?ÿ I think Alaska has more vaccination per capita of any state, we are getting four separate groups supplied: Alaska Natives, DoD, Veterans and General Public.?ÿ I had no symptoms from first one, arm sore for less than 24 hours.?ÿ Heard second one sometimes has more symptoms, but not for everyone.?ÿ?ÿ

My wife and I got Pfizered today.?ÿ No discernible side effects so far.
@jim-framesame here.
My wife (RN) and 94 year old mother received their second moderna. My 94 year old mom had zero side affects. My wife had a fever and chills but toughed it out with Advil and Tylenol while she worked all day.?ÿ
Good to hear of progress.
I thought all medical establishments had a rule against working with a fever. My wife is an office worker at a hospital and has no patient contact. Their standard rule says fever free for 24 hours or don't come in.
Maybe they make an exception when the fever is thought to be from a vaccine and not some other disease? But you don't know for sure you weren't exposed to something before the shot.
she went to work because it is a crappy medical facility. She has already secured other employment because of the conditions and poor policies regarding COVID. That is about as much as I probably should say.?ÿ
Had the first Moderna shot on Thursday.?ÿ Other than a bit of tenderness near the injection site I have had no discernible issues whatsoever.?ÿ That was gone yesterday.
My second shot on 2/4 went well. About 90 minutes required vs 60 minutes for first one, both at the same county health department site.?ÿ
I had no side effects other than a sore arm which I again treated very successfully with Blue Emu.
Got my 2nd Moderna yesterday. Reaction is minor, but more than the first where it was negligible. My arm has a swollen bump that is mildly tender, I didn't sleep well last night, may have had a trivial temperature rise, and have a vague headache today.?ÿ Well worth it.
Nothing after my first shot, then after the second a sore upper arm and slight temperature for a day kept me from sleeping well. In other words, glad I've had the vaccine and far less likely to catch the virus.
BumpTTT
Post vaccinated seems I've found a higher temp than expected and got a new covid test.
This is going to be interesting.
Could be a random flu. They still exist. As do other things that can cause fever. Will post results.
This will be trifecta for me if I'm positive again, and I'll personally be calling the CDC for a discussion.
Stay safe and alert.
