I was to take off tomorrow morning for a Saturday wedding, decided to fly part way, this is what is on my original path right now:

I'm going to try and circle to the town I'm going to, the direct way is going to get hit with 18-35" of snow today and tomorrow.........

Enough is enough this winter........

I drove about 320 miles yesterday. Half of it was whiteout on slushy ice. I am ready for it to be over...

Woke up to a skiff of snow yesterday, but it was long gone by Noon. It's been (kinda-sorta) snowing all day today, but NOT sticking. High should be low 40s today, but we should get back to mid-high 60s next week (just right).

That Florida forecast looks way too close to Hell for my liking (I'll take -10?øF to +100?øF ANY time). I can dress for -10, but run out of things to take off @ about +80?øF.

That's one of the few reasons against moving out of California to a free state.
There was frost on the windshield yesterday...91?øF in 4 days!

I'm trying to pre-condition myself. 😉

I hear ya!

I spent 30+ years working in Southern Utah, Nevada, and other "hot" spots. It was a LOT easier when I was young.

I do NOT handle the cold as well as I used to either, but I'm REAL fond of 60s and 70s these days (wish we had more of that here, but "they say" that it's the cold that keeps the crowds away).

We are on our second of three days in a row of hovering around 90 and humid. I'm already over this nasty heat and summer has yet to crank up the heat.

My folks, on the other hand, love the heat Florida has to offer and grab their winter gear if it gets below 75.....

Beautiful day here in the PNW. Although I clearly remember this day in 1981 when Mount Saint Helens exploded. Driving for a few days after that was an adventure if you were downwind.

Daniel,

I'm glad to see that you didn't come down with pnuemonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis from breathing the ash!

It was 88 here today. My not quite 2 year old air conditioner decided to die. Recharged the Freon and found a leaking coil. Now $700 labor to replace it. ARRRRGGGG!!

I just hope the nice people in Texas and Oklahoma wear out those tornadoes tonight because we don't need them up here.

@ Andy Bruner

10yrs ago I took out the central heat & air and covered all the vents with a new floor because a the 5ton unit was simply not affordable and got window units and space heaters and gained a nice sized pantry in the hall.
I now have two window units to replace this year.
A 24,000 BTU went out before last summer ended.
The 12,000 BTU unit in my office window works for about an hour or so and then the compressor overheats and throws the breaker and shuts down everything in the room.
At least my computers are on a battery backup system.

I've been waiting many years to enjoy being weathered in a month or so to get a real vacation because the winters around here rarely cause any road warnings other than a few places that endure flash flooding.

Cripes Warren, that qualifies as word of the 21st century. I'd like to see that at a "spellen bee".

Memorized that one back about fourth grade. Everybody thought Mary Poppins knew the longest word around. They were wrong.
