If you are a college football fan, then you really enjoyed yesterday, well unless your team lost.
Got to love it.
I have got recliner remorse this morning, since Janice informed me that not one chore got done.

22 of top 23 teams played yesterday. 11 lost, 11 won. Losers included 2,3,4,6 and 8. 14-19 all lost.
Yes it was a great day. I've bought 3 seasons tickets and made enough of a contribution for the seats to be decent every year since 1997. My bunch is 170 miles from my house, so it's a 340 mile round trip. Coming home last night, we did some mental arithmetic.
100 games attended, 34,000 miles driven to attend, at 25 miles per gallon and rough average price of $2 per gallon, $2,720 paid for gas. No estimate for food or road trips to Dallas, West Point, Louisville, etc.
I'm sure that others can easily top my numbers, but remember, I teach mathematics in the lowest-rated state in the nation for overall teacher job well-being.
Next week, my team will be inTampa and I'll be in the recliner.
Yea, it was an awesome day for football.
My Tide lost, but hat's off to Ole Miss. They earned it.
My Memphis Tigers are off to the best start in many, many years. They played toe to toe with UCLA to the end, and Ole Miss almost the entire game. They beat Bearcats soundly last night.

They're holding their heads low this morning. TCU played one helluva against the Sooners yesterday. WE couldn't do anything right and they didn't do anything wrong. They won.
Sooner fans are a funny bunch of folks. When the Sooners lose a lot of fans are full of denial based reasons. Their feelings are their team probably should have really won...At the corner store last night I overheard two guys discussing the game. One mentioned, "We beat ourselves".
Now I like the ball team here, so I guess I'm a fan. But "We beat ourselves"? C'mon man! Be a good loser. There was another team on the field and those guys in the striped shirts...and everybody got their chance at the ball. It was a game!
It's hard for Sooner fans to admit they lost. It's EVEN HARDER for some Sooner fans to actually admit that the better team won.
I just tell them I'm a died-in-the-wool Packer Fan...you get used to losing after a while! :pinch:
It makes the dub-yahs that much sweeter...;-)
Hotty Toddy!
HAIL STATE !!!! The Egg Bowl this year ought to be an outstanding one!!
B-)
The AP poll has Ole Miss and State SHARING the Number 3 spot in the rankings!! What if Ole Miss and State BOTH go to the Egg Bowl UNDEFEATED!!??? :-O
ICollege football yesterday
I hope it happens. That'll be a great game!
College football not for me.
I just don't get college football. Every game I tune in, one team is playing with a basketball score and the other is playing with a hockey score.
On the rare occasion that I catch a close game though, I am hooked into watching.

I remember, back in the day; the Cornhusker/Sooner rivalry.....
Now that right there was some football, I'll tell you what....!

Folks in Norman consider it a "losing season" if the season contains a loss. The merchants at Campus Corner are just glad it was an away game.

College football can be brutal down here. Poor ol' Mack Brown, the retired Longhorn's Head Coach, got tarred and feathered for an 8-5 season. I personally thought he was one helluva coach.
Let's see what numbers Charlie Strong can thrown up on the board this year for Texas....
