Since I started driving in the late '70's, 2.75 still seems pricey to me 🙁
When I started driving, $2.75 was half a tank. B-)
Our cheapest gas just came down to $3.50!
That's about the same price it was in December in the Austin, Texas area when I was there for Christmas last year.
The price per gallon is just slightly less than what I paid to fill a 20-25 gallon tank when I first started driving in the 1950's. During some of the gas wars that went on in some areas, the price per gallon was anywhere from $0.14 to $0.18. There is no excuse for the price that is being charged per gallon now. When I was a little kid, white gas/tractor fuel was $0.10 per gallon.
And I bet that was for half of a 27 gallon tank, not a 15 or 10 gallon tank....:'(
Where are you? State is fine.
In my town the lowest is $3.02/g.
In the neighboring town (Blacksburg, VA) the lowest is $2.95/g
In Salem, VA... usually the lowest in the region, it's $2.86/g
When I started driving (1985) gas was about $0.79/g in North Central WV... I think.

I personally remember being able to buy gas for $0.289. I remember seeing it priced at $0.159 when I was too young to drive. That calculates to about $5.75 to fill up the average 20 gallon tank when I was about 20 and it nearly doubled in the next year to about $0.50 a gallon and $10 a tank. Back then diesel was less expensive than gasoline.
In 2008 I paid $4.659/gallon for diesel and saw it priced for right at $5.00/gallon. At that time diesel was running $0.80 to $1.30 per gallon more than gasoline.
And, minimum wage then was what - $1.25 per hour?

Maybe if we all tank up the store could buy a vowel.
Never mind the gas, I remember when a dozen beer was $4.75, and those were 62 cent canuck bucks.
When gas was UP it was President Obama's FAULT...
Wait a minute... When gas was UP it was President Obama's FAULT... Who's responsible now that it's coming back down? 😉
