Mine's pretty short, and not really a list. Maybe it will become one as I get older. Hopefully, before I die, I leave my kids and wife memories of a more better than worse person, leave a positive mark on at least my little corner of the world, and no debt to really speak of.

I guess if I had to say I'd love to do something before I die, I'd love to see Sammy Hagar play at the Cabo Wabo (it's actually before he quits and dies). Maybe eat a slice of New York pizza, walk in the Seattle rain, take my wife to Forks, Washington (hopefully this one will wain as the years go by. 🙂 )

Lots of gliders in upstate NY with our hills and lakes. Dansville and Big Flats are 2 places close by that they have gliders, which are really quite reasonable priced for a ride. My brother has gone several times and loves it. I drive by these airports several times a week and see them in the air overhead. Maybe someday!!!

I'm actually going to Las Vegas on Thursday for a week (my Mom and my brother live there, as well as my wife's cousin).

After nearly 30 years, there's not much more sightseeing to be done, but I believe everyone should at least pass through Vegas before they die, preferably ride right down the strip from downtown heading south on a Saturday night.

If you don't gamble, you can still spend a few days based locally, seeing the surrounding area. Tourist-style activity could include Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, Mount Charleston (from 95 degrees to five feet of snow in a one hour drive,) Red Rocks Canyon and the Valley of Fire. Helicopters and planes fly to the Grand Canyon several times a day. Or, the Atomic Bomb Museum. There’s also a Pinball Museum and the Neon Graveyard Museum.

Most of the hotels will have stars of varying degrees appearing.....some shows are expensive, some not so much. And, you’d be surprised who’s appearing there.....some old, long-forgotten names, or some high profile stars, it all depends. Again, make reservations in advance as much as you can.

And don't forget, there are plenty of places to stay that don't have casinos attached to them. But if you do ANY gambling, even for just a little while, be sure to join whatever “players club” the casino has.....you may accumulate points that you can use for comps, or you may get bonus gambling money in the form of credits.....ask at each casino. And of course, if your casino is part of a group, the points will accumulate at each venue.

Forks is a great place to visit! I go out there every year. Make sure you drive out to Rialto Beach Olympic National park has many places to visit and you could "walk in the Seattle rain" on your way back (or to) 😉

Joe,

There's a glider field along the Sunset Highway just west of Hillsboro. Also, gliders fly out of the McMinnville Municipal Airport. Pick one, go there, and ask. If not, try the other.

If you are really interested, I'll look up the FBO telephone number for McMinnville.
