Found him while out scouting some land, I do wonder what got him, he was on the bank of a small pond.

Wifes comment: poor ole deer!

My guess is a piss poor shot and he bled out and was eaten by coyotes.

Dang nice buck. Sad to see him end up like that.

I would guess a bad shoot too, but hunting season has been over for a while and he only looks a couple of weeks decayed. Close to a road? May have got hit.

He's looking a might thin.

You may need to increase his feed a bit.

Could be Chronic Wasting Disease. Saw a bunch of that a couple of years ago around here. Usually find them near a water supply.

Found this one in New Mexico a few years ago.

I'm glad I'm not the only one here who has cut the head off a deer I didn't kill just to get his head gear. That is a nice rack, I would be taking that home with me. But I am a weirdo with a big collection of antlers.

Buried the head with the antlers above ground and wrap the antlers in a heavy plastic bag. In 6 months the bugs and earthworms will have cleaned off that skull to bare bone.

redneck euro mount!

if you leave the bag off they will bleach out white. you can use wood stain to brown them back up.

I've been picking them up the last few years and giving them to a local. Right now they're in a stack and she's thinking about what to do with them.
The last set I found was Monday near some fresh lion tracks.

You need to meet a knife maker, you would make their day.

Nothing odd about that Snoop.

It's hard to beat a stag handle.

Down here, we put stuff in red ant piles. Great for cleaning out sea shells.

It only takes days instead of months.
