A few days ago, a friend and friend's daughter contacted me about some baby kittens she witnessed being thrown out of a Jeep by some MFER. ??????
The girl who witnessed all of this did the best she could to rescue the kittens. Bless her beautiful heart!! Unfortunately, one died, and two others are still on the loose. But one did survive and so she asked if I could take it in? I said yes but I would have to ask my hubby first. Well, within that time, baby kitten had found a home and we all figured everything would be ok.
Unfortunately, the first home found for baby kitten was not the best situation for a kitten who had already been through so much, so the girl went and repo'ed baby kitten and brought him to my husband at his work. I was called, and so I went into hubby's work to meet baby kitten. As soon as I saw him, he crawled into my arms and started purring and mewing, then curled up in my arms. Aww man...my heart melted and I started bawling. ??§
So, I brought baby kitten home.
Immediately he adapted to my "cat friendly" home, eating, drinking, digging into the cat toys and climbing up the cat condo.
Then, when Wendell got home, baby kitten hopped into Wendell's lap and curled up and went to sleep. Every once in a while, peeking up, looking at Wendell, and squeaking out a little meow as if to say "Thank You", purring, then drifting back off to sleep.
After much discussion, and seeing how much joy this little kitten has brought to all of us, and to Mr. Munchie Man, we have decided to keep him. ????
Despite being thrown from a Jeep onto a busy traffic infested asphalt road, he seems to be doing great! He's running up and down the stairs, playing with Munch and attacking my Christmas decorations. ????????
AND HE FETCHES!!! ???
My vet tech is coming over to personally meet him and examine him, give him shots, and I'm pretty sure some vet inspired "kitten love". ????
So, now we need a name for this sweet baby kitten!! ???¬
Here's a few pics. Yes, I was crying in the one pic. Such a big lush I am. ????????
?ÿ
That's a good thing you've done there.?ÿ Merry Christmas to you all!
With the white on his nose I'd call him Spot.?ÿ We had a black cat that would retrieve also, Sam (Little Black Sambo, not politically correct).?ÿ You did a good thing.
Andy
Based on your story and a name applied to a former bank officer that was a buddy of mine from the 1980's I would name him Repo Ray.
Cute kitty.?ÿ Looks like he won the lottery when it comes to finding a good home!
I was at the barber shop the other day, probably the last standing citadel of male politically incorrectness in the county.?ÿ And as a fledgling septuagenarian I was probably the youngest one it the place...including Jim the barber.
One old codger in the chair was lamenting as hard as it had been with the passing of his wife a year ago; his sorrow was compounded by the recent passing of his and his deceased wife's 17 year old chihuahua.?ÿ He said the house just wasn't the same without his wife and the dog.?ÿ The room grew quiet as none of us really knew what to say.
I finally piped up and suggested he get a puppy to grow a new companion.?ÿ He admitted he had thought about it, but he said he really didn't want to get that attached to another pet because he just couldn't take it if something happened to a new dog.
One old goat (I've nicknamed him "Happy Jack" because of his sour-puss attitude and constant frown) chimed in and said, "If you're worried about getting too attached to a dog..hell, get a cat".?ÿ
A chuckle echoed through the room.
I guess you had to have been there..... 😉
Mr. Munchie Man
!!!!!!!!!!???????? Some things are best left untold.?ÿ ?????ÿ
A true story from the barbershop. Years ago as I was waiting my turn, the barber asked a very elderly gentleman in the chair his age. As I recall, this was in the month of September or October. The old gent replied: "I'll be 93 next August." That's what I call optimism.
That's why I always defer to the older guys at the barber shop even if I was there before them. I usually tell them, "you go ahead, you're in a bigger hurry than I am".
I don't think any of them have really ever gotten my "joke". 😉
Mr. Munchie Man
!!!!!!!!!!???????? Some things are best left untold.?ÿ ?????ÿ
I was wondering if someone was going to ask. ??? ??? ????ÿ
I let names come to me. When he was a kitten, he kept munching on everything in site!! So I'd get on his ass about it. "Cut it out you Mr. Munchie Man!!" And, well... hence the name. ?????ÿ
I had visions of you all finding him at 2 AM on the kitchen floor trying to fight his way out of an empty Doritos bag (that he had just helped finish off).
Star, Astro or Astrid, Pinto (after the horse coloration, not the bean!)
Oops! I thought you were calling Wendell this endearing name.
Wait a minute!!!!!?ÿ Don't you have like 30 rats living in your home with you??ÿ The laws of nature would seem to suggest that cats and rats should not attempt to be roommates.
That cat looks to have many wild hairs, some cats get stir crazy after a long period of being detained indoors and they can climb the walls, curtains and run across the ceiling on their way back down.
SWMBO and I have one understanding about critters, they belong outdoors or in their own house.
Do like the cat colors and markings.
Me too. But I thought Wendell might have scored some really good weed. :d
No, no more rats. I sure do miss them though!!! ????
I haven't had a pet rat since 2017. Our baby girl, B-Rat, died on my last day in California when I was there getting my moms house ready to sell after my dad died. B-Rat traveled up and down I-5 with us for 2 years, going back and forth between my parents illnesses and deaths. Once we returned back to Oregon, we decided to take a break from a lot of things, including getting more ratties. The itch is there, though. Maybe one day I'll get more ratties. ????
Well, baby kitten has been in our house for a week now. We're so blessed to have him. ????ÿ
He's such a cute little guy! He loves all of us, but seems to be very attached to Wendell.
My other two LOVE playing with him. It's funny to see them two get wiped out by the youngin'. ????ÿ
He's very talkative, loving, and mischievous. He gets into everything!!! He does NOT like to be alone. He sleeps through the night, thank God!!
He eats like a pig!! Never seen a kitten each so much!!
He got his exam and shots today...he is a very healthy, happy kitten, considering everything he has been through.
Still no name. Nothing seems to "match" him. We'll figure out something. One day, it will just "come to us".
Here's a pic for ya. ?????ÿ
And...here's a cute video of baby kitten talking to us.?ÿ 💡 ?ÿ
I have a cat that was thrown out of a pickup window in front of someones house.?ÿ Him and a sibling.?ÿ The other cat got eaten by dogs right away.
There is more to it but their neighbor, a friend of mine, rescued Cisco.?ÿ Somehow he wound up at my house.?ÿ He raids my liquor cabinet.?ÿ He drinks
whiskey, poncho drinks the wine.
I was leaving a job site this week when I passed a lady opening the back of her van.?ÿ Boiling out came four black lab mix puppies about 2 months old.?ÿ She said she is a foster parent for a local shelter.?ÿ The puppies had been abandoned on a hiking trail in the north Georgia mountains.?ÿ They all four had already been adopted and were on their way to Pennsylvania.?ÿ Unless you're a serious breeder have your pets neutered.
