I just wanted to thank those TSPS members and those non-members that contacted their representatives last week. The amendments were pulled and HB1 passed on Sunday with funding for TBPLS still in the bill. Not only did the two reps pull their amendment, but we were contacted by other representatives that stated they would help ensure that the funding stayed in the bill. It goes to show that when we work together and have a focused message that we can be heard. Now the question is whether we can keep everything going until we are out of danger? I sincerely hope that we can keep working together and come out of this stronger than when we started. I still encourage everyone who is not a member of TSPS to join. We can use the help.

TSPS Secretary-Treasurer

By out of danger, what do you mean exactly? I assume that you are referring to whether or not we are consolidated with the Engineers or another undesirable group? Obviously, consolidation is a moot point now, but who/how is still the question.
James,
Good to hear the positive news.
I contacted my Representative and was assured that my concerns would be heard and not wasted breath, yea right, but..., at least I made the effort.
I am not a member of TSPS, but it good to hear that we as a collective group of surveyor's either in a society or not can be heard.
Thanks for what you do, it is appreciated.
Randy
What does all of this have to do with Florida?
JK
James,
I am no longer a TSPS member, I now deal with OSLS, but I still have a vested interest in maintaining continuity with the TBPLS. I put as many bugs in as many ears as I could.
