OF Express Employment Professionals-
on the top 10 mistakes Managers make-

#1 was failure to mentor- One of his comments was that in the next 10 years, 60 million baby boomers will be leaving the american workforce- then he addressed succession planning.

Good seminar- I'd recommend it.

He did tell a few OU V OSU jokes.

One of the pitfalls of solo surveying, that we are not passing along our knowledge to the next generation. My first PC was ten years younger than I am now, when I first entered the profession, and had trained at least four others before me. I have trained a few, including two PLS's (that I am reluctant to contact, as I am still unregistered) but have worked solo for the past 12 years.

We really need to make this a priority, as I see every day the results of unmentored party chiefs doing the best they can with no guidance.

Seems to me, a good way for solos to do mentoring would be:

to have a grad come out of college to work for you, be mentored, and buy the business at a premium price.

How about that? 🙂
