The Sackett vs. EPA case has HUGE implications.

If you drill down to the bottom of where the problems started it appears that the EPA has an inaccurate map of wetland areas. Or property lines inaccurately plotted over wetland areas.

Imagine that! How could that happen-I wonder.

Also, imagine holding mappers to some kind of accurate standard before an enforcement action can take place. I'm not holding my breath.

But, it doesn't look like SCOTUS is even ruling on that issue.

The EPA needs to be done away with and its employes banned from ever doing any work payed for with public money. They are a group of people who do not care about the rights of others, the Constitution or have any of them, by their own personal efforts, produced anything useful to mankind.

I'll go along with that. Should have been done away with before it ever got started.

Do any federal agencies care about taxpaying citizens? Or do they care about following the rules everyone else does?

Amen to that... Nobody ever heard of the term "NIMBY" until that attitude came forth. Problem is their back yard is too big and they don't even own it, they just think they do.

The EPA exists to protect people from greedy corporations that care more about profits than people. The have been rendered ineffective by greedy special interests that lobby congress and misinform the public such as yourselves.

"Why are the Koch brothers allowed to dump cancer causing chemicals..." is a classic logical fallacy of begging the question.

For the same reason Occidental Petroleum got away with it, and why Tyson Chicken was allowing phosphates to seep into the Little Rock River. Since EPA became just another political agency, money and influence talk.

@ Bruce... Are you sure you understand the meaning of begging the question? My understanding is that it means the answer is in the question or that the answer uses the question as the answer. It is similar to circular logic. Please by all means explain further what it is that makes you think that the video I posted is circular in it's logic.

As for my argument, the the enemey is not the EPA, but the greedy corporations like Koch Brothers that see paying millions in fines as cheaper than the profits thay earn by illegally dumping toxic waste. The EPA has been eviscorated by conservative politicians who recieve hunderds of thouseand of dollars from lobbists to water down the regulations and tie the hands of the EPA making it a useless agency. The solution is to strengthen the penalties to the point where it becomes chepaper for the corporations to obey the rules rather than avoid them. To disagree os to say you favor corporations over people and profits over health.

I see you've gotten Dear Leader's talking points down pat. If you had somehow gotten the "war on women" into that screed, you'd have knocked it out of the park.

The EPA exist because of the Unocal's 1969 offshore blow-out in 1969, leaking 80,000 to 100,000 barrels of crude oil. It is also the reason why California banned off shore drilling. Nixon then created the EPA the following year.

+ 1. If they could get away with it, these greedy corporations will do anything not cleaning up after their selves if they can make a fast $$$ and leave the clean up cost to taxpayers. Why not hold them responsible? Why should I have to pay for their mess just so they can make a bigger profit?

Actually, without looking it up, I believe California probably banned any new offshore drilling. Some of the ones from back then are still in operation, including platform Gail, where our survey crew staked out a new generator location back in the late 80's. A fun job on a "moving" surface.

With your source of information, I can understand why your opinion is so twisted.

If we get anymore radical on this it should be moved out of legal issues to Political.

The EPA has uses, at the state level. The federal agency should be abolished and several of its minions actually deserve some time in Leavenworth, et. alia..

Correct. I should of said banned any NEW offshore drilling. The ones that were already there were allowed to keep operating and most still are.
