Has Anyone heard of these folks? Ran across this ad, looks like they are in all 50 states. Nothing mentioned about having a PLS on staff in each state. From the ad:
"PPM is a leading national provider of As-Built measuring services, with over 12 years of As-Built experience, and over 7,000 completed projects in all 50 U.S. states.
We can provide you with a written proposal within 1 business day if you give us some basic project information. Or if you just want general pricing for potential future projects, please select that option below and we will contact you shortly with some general information."
What think ye? Are these folks encroaching?

They make it look as though they manage surveyors in all of these locations. I wonder how their definition of manage differs from that of most licensed land surveyors.
Should we click on their ads? The number of clicks will increase their marketing costs, but I think it will also increase their coverage. I know there are a bunch of magic algorithms behind those ads.
I keep getting some as-built plan services ads. I did click on one to see what they were all about. Be sure to read the fine print. Not a real survey...
PS. I like your initials.

Their disclaimers aside, it sure sounds as if they are practicing land surveying as defined by the state of North Carolina in preparing site as-builts. Not sure about the indoor/architectural measurements, but the outdoor stuff is certainly suspect. A quick check shows that PPM is not a registered LS or PE firm in NC. I may have to drop the Board a line and let them know about this firm.
Well, they provide precision property measurements. They don't claim to be accurate.
in fact, they state that if they are not accurate, their liability is limited to the original fee. That sure instills some confidence in the quality of their work . . .
These guys are part of the crowd that are probably as responsible as anyone for keeping myth of the "$300 survey" alive.
😉
I Wouldn't Click on That Link
"Should we click on their ads? "
Unless you want their banner ad following you from site to site. Not sure how that works but "their" ad will follow you and an "As Built" firm in L.A. shows up repeatedly through GoogleAdServices.
