I wondered why there was a small grove of hardwoods out in a hayfield. Our client is a direct descendant of the soldiers buried there. There were only two marked graves, father and son, both honored for their service to our country during the revolutionary war by the monuments that only allow a tiny glimpse into their history. We were fortunate enough to hear a little of the family history as well. The land we were surveying was a small portion of the land granted to them for their service.

Stumbled onto a tombstone once while searching for a quarter corner that was listed as being a stone. ?ÿOnly a few inches were still above ground level. ?ÿDid not notice the words until we had cleared away some soil.
