Senior Survey & Civil CAD Drafter
Overview / Responsibilities:
Crews Surveying, LLC is seeking a Senior Survey & Civil Drafter for their Pipersville, PA office. The applicant must have extensive experience in both survey data drafting as well as design drafting. Experience working as an independent project manager and also as a team project manager is required. A combination of approximately 10 years of education and experience may be accepted to satisfy the qualifications for this position. The ideal candidate will also have the drive and desire to obtain their license and advance into a future role in project management.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidateÛªs primary duties will be to manage projects from field data to planning, design and permitting. The candidate will be responsible for:
- Perform office calculations on field survey and remotely sensed data
- Collecting, interpreting, and drafting record property documents
- Effectively communicate with clients both written and oral.
- Preparation of final survey drawings, maps, exhibits, and field layout documents
- Writing of legal descriptions
- Working closely with survey crew chief/members as well as office personnel.
- Plan and prepare preliminary layouts and detailed final design drawings from designs, sketches, and/or other drawings
- Design and draft plans for: surveys, permits, Land Developments, Subdivisions, Zoning Analysis, Resource Preservation, Concept Plans, Construction Documents, PCSM Plans.
- Research and interpret standards/codes/ordinances required for project compliance.
- Reviews of municipal ordinances and governmental regulations to determine site limitations and/or impact on proposed project.
- Perform grading design drafting including earthwork, drainage areas, contours, pad elevations, etc.
- Perform erosion control design specific to each project both HQ/EV and non-HQ/EV.
- Complete drawings/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Organize/maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project related information both digital and hardcopy in a logical and well-structured manner.
- Utilize strong CAD layer management, drawing composition, and drawing standards development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications are summarized as follows:
- BachelorÛªs degree.
- 10 years experience in survey or civil professions.
- 5 years minimum residential site design & permitting experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Carlson Survey/Civil or Civil 3D) with past or current experience in Terramodel preferred.
- Experience with zoning, planning, and site permitting processes and agencies.
- Self-starter who can work independently or with team members.
- Possess a solid work ethic.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task projects and correspondence.
