I think it will be announced at the ASPS board meeting Wed. At Mt. Magazine. This will give surveyors the illusion that they had a part in the selection.

State Surveyor Search Deadline Extended!
The deadline for candidates to apply for the position of State Surveyor has been extended to Wednesday, November 11th, 2015.

(There were only two applicants and I guess neither one passed the GIS test)

They may have been "over qualified".
I got an email from them about a month or so ago about the opening. I guess they were widenng the search so to speak. I haven't held a license there for ten years or so.
