At this point I'm kicking the proverbial tires, curious if anyone knows any places hiring full time in the nearish future for an LSIT with a year or so experience with field and CAD work in or near rural areas of Washington or Oregon. Not to crazy about the place I'm at as well I'm a bit homesick (from Seattle).

Thanks?

My guess is that it is going to be another tough year or two in the Pacific NW. My spies tell me that things are starting to show signs of life but there is still a long way to go before much hiring happens.

Not to say that a motivated individual can't find something in the Seattle area.

That's the general impression I've been getting around here, seems to confirm it so thank you.

Last time I spoke with my former employer (Eugene area) the only thing keeping him afloat was elevation ceertificates and he calls in the crew chief on an as needed basis.

Agree with the others, although after two dead and I mean dead dead dead months, March is looking pretty good, have more work under contract at one time than I have had in many months, not calling it a recovery yet because I will still burn through this work in about 30 days, but when you have been in a long dry spell it seems pretty good all of a sudden.

As was said, maybe Puget Sound area, but not even sure about that.

I know of none specifically but I do know a buddy of mine just landed a job in the Tri-Cities area.

We've been steady all 2012 and 2103 and able to keep things going with our current staffing levels and plan to follow that scenario for as long as possible.
