There have been a few times in my life, more than I like to remember, although, now that I do remember, I can't actually say that I don't like it, so that old cliche gets tossed out.
Where was I? Ah, yes...There have been a few times in my life when I've been out of work and really wanted to get a job. There have been many other times, particularly in my youth, when I've been out of work and didn't really care if I got a job or not. In those times I used to practice urban and/or road survival techniques which are the equivalent of killing a deer with your bare hands and gutting it with you teeth, only in the context of actual interpersonal relationships with people who don't have the privilege of living in the country with Aaron Copland playing in the background.
O.K., sorry, again...where was I?
Right...looking for a job.
So... if I really wanted to get a job, I would dress nicely and try not to insult any potential employers by proclaiming strong personal opinions before they even had the opportunity to talk to me. I wouldn't, for instance, wear a jacket to an interview with a big button that said "I don't care what you think, this is what I think" or "Eisenhower sucks!"
Now what I mean? If you really want a job, you should demonstrate maturity and common sense to anyone that might possibly be looking at professional websites to search for a new employee.
Just some thoughts,
Don
Well said. Even if you did lose your train of thought a couple of times. 😉
That would be dumb. Eisenhower was a war hero and a great president. In the Midwest even hinting a left way of thinking would be suicide for a job. We know who's killing jobs here. Funny I've only found work difficult to find last 3 years. What could be the common factor there?. Good thing I'll be going back to work next month it looks like.
I had the same thought a couple of days ago. Potential employers know how to use google ... And what you post on the Internet can stay there for years, if not forever. I wrote a "letter to the editor" back when I was in college, that seemed like a good idea at the time ... Not so proud of it anymore. But google my name and it's on the first page ....

Funny, I've had no difficulty finding work in the last 3 years. What common factor are you refering to?
