Down the back of some other wetlands

Kicked into a way big nest of these little joys...
and got myself well stung up for my troubles.
But worst of all, somewhere along the way I lost my bestest belt buckle - sniff 🙁

Am administering scottish anaesthetic for a Friday evening...
Game bird hunting season starts tomorrow morning. Wouldn't want to be out surveying then.
Hope you have a successful hunt. In Florida hunters shoot each other more so than game. ?????ÿ
Some fine day I'm going to get down there and find that belt buckle for you.
I'm jealous that your Friday evening starts long before mine.
Yeah, but his Monday morning starts long before yours, too.
Look at the bright side, they weren't white faced hornets or brown hornets. We have brown hornets around here, and they are about 4 times the size of those little boogers and a sting to match. They are far more aggressive, as well, when around the nest.
Yeah, but his Monday morning starts long before yours, too.
True that 🙂
Fortunately I've always been an "early bird". Feet hit the floor 05:00 or prior.
Office hours 06:00 - 21:00...

Richard, I??ll give you points on the basis of individual stings. However, the group-mind mentality of a yellowjacket attack is to be respected and, in my experience, is unrivaled in the surveying field.?ÿ
I??ll add that the 2nd photo was surely borrowed from the web and not a firsthand account of the enexpectedly discovered nest. Else, the op is either one brave sob or, more than just a few arc-seconds off line.?ÿ
The unrivaled stream of swear words coming from a Surveyor being attacked by yellow jackets would make a sailor blush.
