For me, one of the big perks of this gig is to bodily throw myself into miscellaneous and various lakes and rivers

Here, spring has gone rapidly into the start of summer - with it pushing over 30 C the last couple of days

I had heard tell of a good swimming hole at the Boys Brigade Camp on the Waipara river bank

So I went looking on the way home

It's a beauty - a small dam surrounded by shady willows and picnic spots

After a hot day baking in the sun and dry winds it was just heaven 🙂

I can most certainly relate. Only around here even on the hottest of days, the water, particularly clear mountain streams and alpine lakes, may only be a few degrees above freezing. Very refreshing! We set all kind of temperature records this summer and after working all day in the field, driving back marinated in sweat and grime, nothing beats diving into a crystal clear lake at the end of the day.?ÿ

Can't beat some cold water wild swimming. One of the perks of the job to find new swimming spots. Great for the mind as well as the body!

I have a pond outside my office window,,,,,,,,frozen solid, I think you could walk on it, not that I'm going to try it.

From the thread title I thought was going to be a story involving a very dippy client or his neighbor.

Yeaaaaa ... I do my bestest to never swim under ice, current or no current, hot day or not. No ice around here yet as our crazy record breaking temps drone on. Gone through thin ice a couple of times and it wasn't that much fun. Neither is overflow.

@williwaw

Light snow all day long, shoveled the driveway today, it's a bit warm to stick now, but the 50 degree day promised never came, just hang around 32, now I need to be two hours north of town by 7:30 AM, thinking about heading out tonight. It has been snowing off and on and even below 0 degrees F at times for over two weeks.

Enough already!!!!
