I bet he could fabricate a total station out of old parts and duct tape.
I bet R.G. would take an old Set2 Total Station, duct tape a pulley wheel to the top and attach that to an old washing machine motor so that now you too could have a motorized total station on a budget. There is really no need to purchase one of those 30k plus total stations they sell these days.
