Here are some photos from a topo survey in West Cork, South of Ireland. Very scenic area.

This one is a topo in East Cork, South of Ireland.

Looks beautiful, makes me wonder what the air smells like.

I've never traveled abroad. Unless you want to call being escorted drunk by the Polic??a Local back North over the Brownsville-Matamoros pedestrian bridge an "international travel".... but my bucket list includes Northern Europe and the British Isles.

My youngest son spent a good deal of time a few years ago all over Europe and the UK. His impression was that he always felt he was a foreigner (especially when he spoke) except in the Netherlands and the Northern British Isles. He said he felt more at home in those two places. I'd like to try that myself.

If I were to do one of those DNA tests where they decide where your ancestors lived once upon a time, it would turn out to say at least one percent Irish. Maybe more. I really don't know. But, deep down inside there is a part of me that woke up when it saw those lovely rural photos and said, "Go home, boy. Go home."

If the words heard were "gang hame laddie, gang hame", you best pack. 😉

You're probably right. And Ol' HC might be on to something. Here's an interesting ditty I just read with this attached pic; the family resemblance is amazing.

"In Ireland, we have a cow for every 2 people ie. 1.1 million dairy cows and 1.1 million beef cows. The dairy herd is 95% Holstein Friesian."

It'd be less than a week without fire ants and chiggers and you'd be homesick. 🙂

My cousin there in the center is Miley O'Riley. She's rather proud of her brucellosis tattoo.
