I'm definitely going to miss the 7" Panasonic fz-m1 I'm using now. It's smaller than the tsc7 would be even if the keyboard was cut off. Only time it sucks is when it's raining or snowing heavily, then I wish I had the keyboard. Or if I need to type a lot, but that problem is microsurvey's fault. The Fieldgenius keyboard takes takes up a small portion of the middle of the screen. I can type no problem on the Magnet field default keyboard, but then I have to use the actual worst instrument I've ever used...the Sokkia IX I mentioned previously.?ÿ
Sokkia IX
Did you sell the Sokkia iX?
If not I'll be glad to take that junk off your hands.
Hmm, worst instrument... honestly, probably the TSC7 collector I'm currently using.?ÿ Strap the hood of a car onto the rod and try walking around the woods with it, and you'll probably see where I'm coming from.
I have to buy antenna by the case for those things.

He hasn't put it up for sale yet, no. I believe he plans on putting it on eBay. Has probably about an hour of use since the last motor replacement. Someone else is using the 360atp1 prism, but it does have the RC5.?ÿ
We looked up other prices on ebay a while back and never got around to selling it. What do you think is a fare price? I can send pictures of it too if you'd like.?ÿ
Is it possible to transfer the magnet field license too? We have an extra Panasonic fz-m1 that could be bundled as well.?ÿ
Thales Z-max, nominee for worst form factor.?ÿ Along with high marks for most intermittent bluetooth connection to controller.
Fortunately haven't had to use one in 15 years.
Has probably about an hour of use since the last motor replacement.
Why didn't he send it back to the dealer?
That appears to be an obvious failure on tech's part.
It's working as good as it ever did, the repair and calibration was fine, it just lost lock way too frequently for my liking and was basically non functional with fieldgenius which is the software everyone was on at the time. So I ended up the only person using magnet field which was issues for our office. That's why I got the Leica working with the paranis. Now I'll be getting a Trimble robot and the Leica will be the backup.?ÿ
He's also selling an Srx5x which the Bluetooth seems to have failed on and the power button is intermittent. As is.?ÿ
A few months ago a new Firmware was introduced for these instruments, that may help. Also there are a lot of settings in controller that will affect tracking.?ÿ
Do you working for licensed land surveyor or a construction company?
It's been on the shelf for around a year now, so we wouldn't have the latest firmware. It was updated multiple times before that, for the couple years I used it, before switching to magnet.?ÿ
The most sour part of the experience was waiting for Microsurvey to do something about it. They did a couple of updates and eventually just gave up and I switched to magnet after close to a year. Our Sokkia salesman seemed like he was putting a lot of effort into fixing things for us, but most of the blame probably belongs to microsurvey, although Sokkia demoing it with magnet while selling it to us with Fieldgenius was a bit of a bait and switch.
I did play with settings and experiment over a period of months and I believe I got it as good as possible, but I could have missed something.?ÿ
I work for a licensed land surveyor.?ÿ
As per the title of this thread and from you described in others, it obviously is worthless to you and your company.?ÿ
What is the model number?
To me it is worthless, but to my boss not so much based on the cost on eBay they were going for at least $15,000.
IX-503.

I hope you check your daily layout numbers better than you do on this forum. There is absolutely no way that gun is $150,000 as you noted . . . . you have zero in the wrong place.?ÿ?ÿ
That is a lower-grade 3-second construction layout gun. The iX1000 and 1200 series are higher.
Sorry, fixed. Was trying to reply quickly before hitting the road, so I don't have to rush the jobs. Lol.
I was never told it was a "construction only" instrument. Almost all of our instruments at this company are 3" except the SX12.?ÿ
Anyway, I'm sure he will find a buyer. It would be good for someone who doesn't have to do layout all day long and wants to save some money.?ÿ
At my first full time surveying job in 1968 we had a new Lufkin 200?? steel tape with the 113th foot missing. I kept a foto of it for many years.?ÿ
Early 80??s my boss sent out the transit for repairs and got a loaner with a 20? outside ?ÿ ?ÿhorizontal vernier scale and a 30? inside scale. To turn an angle I wound it up 20 times to get the nearest minute. ?ÿ ?ÿ
