We all have some form of connection to the wide, wide world of land surveying.?ÿ Individually, we all have different experiences, different knowledge and various special skills.
What would you list as your top special skill?
My special skill is levitation.?ÿ That's not something normally taught in any classroom but can come in handy as an instinctive asset when the need arises.
As an example, here is a cell phone shot of me levitating because my co-worker said, "SNAKE".
The great ability to tell straight faced white lies to SWMBO. ?????ÿ
The gift of gab can truly come in handy while dealing with clients and the various stray inquisitors who come along as you are working in the field.?ÿ You just never know when you are being interviewed for potential work.?ÿ Or, additional work down the road.
@flga-2-2?ÿ
Why do you think they called me Radar?
I am automatically at fault for SWMBO??s mistakes, it??s some kind of quantum mechanical magnetism I possess.
I'd have to say, having the basic survival skills...being able to open a beer bottle with my bare hands...
I can tell which way the USB plug fits in only three tries.?ÿ
Being able to walk right over or park on a section corner multiple times before stumbling over when the toe of my boot catches on it.?ÿ
I don't do gravity
I can find other people's control points!
All I have to do is set my own point, and after I've set up and shot everything I need from there, I look down and see 2 or 3 MagNails, and maybe a PK or two, all within 1 to 3 feet of my new point.
It never fails!
?ÿ
I can tell when someone brings donuts to the office...
The ability to overcome my inner gremlins and kindly box up a base unit set up on my control point. The alternative of just kindly moving it off my point while still transmitting has only been deeply considered once.
I'm super talented at finding all the dog poop the homeowner "picked up" before we got there.
Not sure if this qualifies but according to my significant other I possess the ability to tune out certain sound frequencies most often used in the course of speaking by the opposite sex.
