I have a lot of estimates that I must get off my desk.
Most of them are small jobs that I really don't want.
You know, the spring time inquiries - "I'm building a fence & I just need you to put in a couple of stakes, it should only take you an hour or so."
Or "my neighbor just built a shed and it's on my land. I need you to tell him to move it"
Friday I left at lunch so I could spend the afternoon with my daughter. Left the guys with the option to work on the weekend if they wanted. "I am off till Monday," I said. "Yall work it out between you. I am not to be bothered before Monday morning," I said.
Got 5 voicemails and about a dozen texts from the lot of them yesterday. Didn't read or listen to one, but I'm guessing they somehow didn't work it out.
First order of business in the morning isn't going to be pleasant, I'm pretty sure of that.
>What does Monday have in store?
Is it ever good?
Red beans and rice
What does Monday have in store?
Dark roast Sumatra coffee with absolutely no chicory. No Tang, either.
It my be the first full day of sunshine in weeks.......then rain on Wednesday
:sun:
I am so far behind with this crazy weather pattern, I have run out of excuses for not having jobs done.
Worked on Sunday (the sun shined)

Hit a deer on the way into work this morning... Hope the rest of the day is better!
(I did have a 'feel good' moment though when the County Deputy and I were shining the edge of the road, looking for the deer. My flashlight was much brighter than his... he actually turned his off when he saw that. 🙂
One of those "It will not be correct no matter what you do." type of jobs that I've been putting off for two months. Over 100 years ago a 'flash-in-the-pan' type of business has a paper subdivision created from most of a quarter section. A full day has already been spent at the courthouse attempting to sort out what little information is available. The portion of the subdivision where we need to end up has north-south lines that parallel a railroad right-of-way and east-west lines that clearly are not at right angles to that. We finally discovered how they were intended to run but have no rationale to explain why. We will need to do a section breakdown to confirm the relative bearing of the south line of the quarter section to that of the centerline of railroad. Then we will need to pretend to lay out blocks parallel to that for a certain distance. Then we will need to begin laying out blocks that have end lots of varying dimensions, thus creating a different version of what I'm calling east-west. Once we know that relative angle we come down to two or three major questions depending on the true length of the line along the centerline of the railroad between the north and south sides of the quarter section. The north end of our block should point to a point on the railroad centerline AAAA feet south of the north quarter section line and BBBB feet north of the south quarter section line. I'm betting our measured distance will be neither of those numbers. Then, once we have solved the mysteries of the section and the railroad, we will finally discover if our block falls anywhere near long held physical evidence of where everyone has thought it is located. What would really help would be having any record surveys for this subdivision instead of none.
Couple 4 Cups of Chock full of Nuts , but does not have any nuts. Then 3d model building all day for machine control .
Kinda boring so far. On the Ryndam heading for Key West, be there at noon for the 3 hour bar conch tour. Then to Cozemel, Costa Maya etc.
Great surveyors week so far! B-)
Much like Randy, very, very behind due to the crazy weather. I need to be in the field setting corners and starting on another boundary. It's a beautiful day here in West TN.
Several proposals. Finishing up a boundary/rezoning application for a very good client.
WAITING FOR THE INTERNET GUY!!!!! Our internet has been very sporadic since a power outage at the internet switching station on Thursday night. I replaced the router thinking it was bad. It is several years old. The new router is having the same problem.
I am having to rest the modem several times a day. Extremely frustrating.

Sounds like you were better off when "flyin solo"?

I bought 100% Chickory "coffee" once. I had never heard of it and wanted to give it a try.
I would rather drink instant coffee from an MRE before I'd drink Chickory again.
It was very dark and very strong.
