Finally through (maybe..) with some tower reconstruction in the "war-zone" Moore, Ok. area. Got in last night at 10:30 P.
All I can say is it's a wonder more folks weren't killed in the storm. Of course, wide spread devastation is always a little more impressive when you get up close and personal.
Here's a CAT water-wagon that was shoved about 20 feet sideways. It flattened two of the tires and actually ripped off a couple of hoses (probably wind-driven debris):
Most of these trellis towers are designed for only 95 to 120 mph winds:
After 6 inches of rain in about two hours the other morning the wheat fields actually
still had six inches of water standing. Walking with 30 pound adobe balls on your feet was a chore, so we called in the artillery:
Although the creature comforts on the flatbed were a bit Spartan, it crawled through the rice paddies quite nicely.
