Or, pinkeye, if you prefer.
The current ailment interfering with my productivity. ?ÿTyping this message is a challenge. ?ÿSucks to be me.
Noticed I might be starting to develop some minor cold symptoms last Wednesday. ?ÿWoke up Sunday to find my right eye was quite inflamed and I had the classic symptoms of pinkeye. ?ÿOne of my early thoughts went back to my experience working with cattle and treating bovine pinkeye. ?ÿA home remedy for that is a handful of salt being rubbed directly into the infected area. ?ÿI decided I wasn't tough enough to consider such a remedy.
?ÿWoke up in the middle of the night last night to discover both eyes are infected. ?ÿThe right eye is starting to improve but the left eye is fully inflamed.
Tried to do some courthouse research today, but that was super difficult with blurred vision. ?ÿDrafting is out of the question.
If you were in Kenya, that would be Nairobi red eye.
And in the country where I work I've had it a couple of times, and in keeping with the rhyming theme we call it F... f... eye. From memory the itching is the worst bit.
"Or, pinkeye, if you prefer."
Isn't that the politically correct terminology for Mad Cow Disease??ÿ ???? ?ÿ
We used to use "Gentian Violet" (sp?) on cows that got it.?ÿ Purple liquid that stained EVERYTHING it touched.?ÿ Maybe you'd look good with a purple face (grin).

I had a minor issue with pinkeye in the past year. My right dominant eye. I bought some inexpensive over-the-counter homeopathic drops that worked quite well. It contained belladonna.
I added some more antioxidants juices to the diet after that
We use Similasan Pink Eye Relief Sterile Eye Drops in my home of 6.?ÿ It's cheap, OTC, and my doctor recommended it!

yes. That is the brand name of the homeopathic drops that I posted.
Be sure it??s Pinkeye before you treat it. A few years back (2014) I thought I had pinkeye in both eyes. I tried treating it with over the counter meds. It went away eventually then came back in the night. This happened several times even after seeing my regular eye doctor. It turned out that I was having recurrent corneal erosions due to dry eye syndrome.
Yes, it was as bad as it sounds ?ÿI would wake up in the middle of the night from dreams of someone stabbing me in the eye. Because my eyes were dry, my eyelids were sticking to my cornea. During REM sleep, my eyelid movement would rip the cells off the surface of my cornea. My eye would turn red and the surrounding tissue would swell as if I had been punched in the eye. I woke up several times not being able to see out of either eye. I got lost in my own house trying to find my way to the medicine cabinet.
It was a very scary time. There is just not that much work out there for a blind surveyor.
After a half year of hacks trying to treat my eyes, I was properly diagnosed at the Duke Eye Center. They performed laser surgery on both of my cornea and prescribed ?ÿRestasis.
I have been good to go ever since with a few minor changes in lifestyle. I use preservative free artificial tears whenever my eyes feel dry during the day. I always wear glasses or sunglasses when I am outside to keep wind and dust out of my eyes. And I use a drop of Restasis morning and night.?ÿ
Right after surgery I used a bit of NACL gel in my eyes at bedtime. That might have a similar affect as the salt treatment you described for cows. It??s available over the counter for about $20 for a 0.5 oz tube. But it goes a long way.?ÿ
