Anybody have a contact or site to get val maps for The Kansas City Southern Railway Company? Im in Mississippi.
Well what I am hearing is that they don't share that information. If our engineering drawings are wrong for the permit then they will let us know.
The National Archives has most (if not all) of the ICC filings. I have acquired Val. Maps for both active and defunct Railroads from them in the past. It's kind of a PITA, but worth the trouble in my opinion (no such thing as too much research/documentation).

Good luck...

Used your link and found:
"This file unit consists of blueprint maps for the Kansas City Southern Railroad in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Included are right-of-way and station maps showing engineering details such as track layout and the locations of nearby roads, buildings, and bridges. The maps are annotated with color markings, showing either new acquisition to the railroad or track/property no longer in use. Some of the maps include land acquisition information (grantor and grantee)."

One of the keys researching through the archives records rather than the current operating railroad is figuring out what company operated the railroad at the time the maps were created (or at the time any property was acquired). I have some val maps for the Amtrak Northeast Corridor on my desk...but at the time they were created (1918) it was the Marguder Branch, of the Maryland Division, of the Philadelphia, Baltimore & Washington Railroad, operated by the Washington Terminal Company.
I got a predecessor railroad list from a seminar. It is about 20 years old but is helpful in figuring out who owns it. It's to big to pdf if anybody wants it let me know and I will email it.

I would love to have a copy. We do a good bit of research at the archives and all info is good to have.
