I have an older TSC2 that I've been using for about 6 years now(new when purchased). As I'm sure most of you have experienced, the touch screen had to be replaced. I got it back and now if I press the power button to turn on/off ,like usual, it locks up. As long as I leave it on it runs fine. If I turn off by pressing the power button, the only way I can get it to turn back on is to pull the power boot off. I sent it back to the dealer and he called and said if you "tap the power button it goes into sleep mode. He says the proper way to turn off is to hold until that one align screen window comes up and to select shut down. Now I've been using the TSC2 since it came out and I've never heard of this or had this problem before, including on THIS collector. The Trimble docushare for the thing says "One of the most convenient features of the unit is "instant on" and "instant off"(also known as "suspend/resume"). There is no waiting for the unit to boot up every time it is turned on." Has anyone else had this problem? I went through all of the settings and cant seem to find anything. Thanks guys
Never heard of such a thing. Only time I hold the button that long is for a hard reboot.
Looks as they also replaced your on/off button with an off button.
sent the unit back and ask for an on/off button.
no, seriously. The on/off button places the wince unit in sleep mode, that means you switch off the screen but running programs and the windows system remain less or more active.
Tapping again should make the unit wake up instantly compared to the startup of a desktop system.
We have some units that are seldom used, when daylight saving switches they always wake up themselves with a popup to confirm the new hour.

I didn't know you had that foolishness on your side of the pond. I thought we were the only ones silly enough to think we were accomplishing anything by resetting the clocks.
