I got this from one of our crews...
Similar experiences? Any Ideas?
"While using the TSC2 Trimble data collector on a project here in the Victor area, the screen goes blank a couple of times a day. The screen develops some vertical lines on it, becomes unresponsive, and then goes blank. The screen is still lighted but blank. If you re-booted the data collector it works fine, until it happens again…
Other than that is works ok."
He also told me the process takes/ developes over a preiod of time- +/-30 minutes from the appeaance of the lines until it's blank. outdoor temps have been hi 20's low 30's
Unscrew the battery, double check to make sure there isn't anything obscuring the multiple square contacts and then make sure the housing screws are secure.
How old is the battery?
I have had similar issues, warm and cold, but I lean towards a battery going south or the cold temps cause the casing to shrink a bit and not allowing the contacts get fully seated.

the unit is less than 6 mo old. We've off line input to check the battery also- thanks-
I had a screen on a 10 month old TSC2 go out last summer. Apparently there was a recognized glitch in the screen and Trimble paid for a new one
