I have recently swapped from using trimble survey controller 12.5 to carlson survce. Instead of retyping out my entire codetable to put into survce, is there someway I can convert my trimble survey controller codetable to be read by survce?

If you can export your trimble dictionary to a .FXL file. You can then import your FXL file in Carlson's Survey Module. The command is EDITF2F -> CODE TABLE SETTINGS -> IMPORT TRIMBLE CODES
That's the method on the 2016 version. I haven't used it so I don't know if it works fully or if you'll need some additional tweaking.

thanks for that. By Carlson's Survey Module, do you mean the desktop software? I don't have or use this. The only Carlson software I use is Survce on my data collector. Looks like I need some desktop software to do conversion?
