I have a TDL2.4 data radio, an SX10, and Access on my laptop (i.e. no built in radio). Usually we use a Yuma with internal radio with the SX10 but it is out on a job in another state. I have used the TDL radio with access on my laptop and also with access on a new TDC600 to connect to a 2006 vintage S6. No problem?ÿ

Today I can connect to an S7 through the radio (laptop->BT->Radio->S7). This was at the dealer when I went to see what was wrong (it was near the job). He had no idea what could be wrong.?ÿ

I can connect to the SX10 over wifi, but I cannot connect to the SX10 over the radio. In fact, it doesn't even show up when I go to instrument...connections. However, it always worked fine with the Yuma built in radio to the SX10. The laptop has the latest version of access (2020.11), while the Yuma has an older version (newer versions are not compatible because it is running Windows 7 and cannot be upgraded to windows 10)

Has anyone connected to the SX10 through a TDL radio? Any reason why it would not work??ÿ

?ÿ

After I thought about it, I suspect that the BT link between the laptop and the radio is the issue, probably not enough bandwidth to support the data flow (video) from the SX10, hence the reason it doesn't even show up.?ÿ

?ÿ

As an aside, I inadvertently killed the SX10 when I got back to the office. I decided to make sure it has the latest firmware, so I ran Trimble Installation Manager and it said there was an update available. I started the update process, and it got pretty far along and then just stayed there. The symbol was still spinning, but it the "step" didn't change for about 90 minutes, seemed like it was stuck.

?ÿ

You cannot X out of the installation, so I pressed the power button. Now I have an INOP SX10. Just took it to the dealer, they said when this happens they MAY be able to fix it there or it MAY have to go to Trimble in Dayton. I asked what I should have done since it seemed to be stuck, their answer was let it run overnight. Seems like there should be a failsafe if the update freezes like that.?ÿ

@john-hamilton

That sucks John.

We just had our SX10 factory cleaned and calibrated and upon first use it made bizarre grinding noises it didn't have when we sent it out.

Trimble is legendary for horrible software updates and upgrades.

Our dealer gave us a loaner because we spent 1500 dollars we didn't need to spend and got back a bum unit back.

Hit them up.

Good luck.
