My Trimble dealer dropped one off for me to test today, it's a cool receiver. Basically a scalable R8 in an extremely rugged housing. It's technically a construction receiver, but it works great with Access and I already tested it with VRS, worked great with that. The only drawback to it is that there's no option for logging static data, either internally or externally. But if you want a good receiver for RTK only, especially in tough environments, this thing looks good.
You said you ran the SPS985 with Access. Will Access run the other SPS receivers too?

Logging option was only å£175 here. It can definitely do it.
I agree - it's a rugged R8 model 4, everything is a paid for option so it can be very cheap depending on what you need it to do. Base upgrade was dear - over å£1000.
Our one came with the following "upgrades" for å£6000
Precise Rover
GLONASS
xFill

Access and Survey controller used to need a construction instruments unlock code but the latest versions of Access (since 2014.20 ?) work with them straight away.
We have a couple of 985's that are supposed to have the memory option turned on (paid upgrade). The are on a crew in Wichita Falls so I have no way of verifying that. Survey controller 12.50 has the 985 listed in the list of instruments but I couldn't make the DC connect. Only had two chances to try it, haven't been back up there since.
The TSC2 with Access that I bought from you last year connected to the 985. Didn't have a chance to actually use it but it did connect.

We have 3. LOVE THEM.
I have installed the option for logging data, it goes to the tablet, not the SPS985.
Does

Does it require the logging option if you are storing on the logger?

Yes, I believe so.
[sarcasm]You may want to check with your board, it very well may be illegal to survey boundaries with a construction antennae, especially in NC and FL[/sarcasm]
