What's the skinny on these Trimble S Robotic Total Stations??ÿ
Do they work with TSC-2's with Version 12.50??ÿ
Are they still in production??ÿ
What about the robotics, Is it active or passive?
Thanks
What's the skinny on these Trimble S Robotic Total Stations??ÿ
In my opinion the best robotic total stations on the market.?ÿ Highly reliable.
Do they work with TSC-2's with Version 12.50??ÿ
If the collector has the built in radio it should work, though I would suggest checking the settings area to verify "S Series" is listed.
Are they still in production??ÿ
The S3 and S6 are no longer in production, the current instruments are the S5, S7, and S9

They come in both passive and active configurations, verify prior to purchase that the instrument is active.

We just got a S5 and as far as I know, they are still in production.?ÿ?ÿOurs has an active target but it will do passive also.?ÿ We are using survey pro with ours but I think as long as your software in the data collector has the S5 listed it would work.?ÿ I asked our dealer about the newer models and he told me that have scanning and picture taking abilities that I don't have.?ÿ Not sure if that statement is accurate or not.?ÿ So far I really like it, wish I had had it a couple of years sooner.?ÿ
Depending on the active target, it may require an up-to-date version of Access which may or may not run on a TSC2.
Passive works well, though.
I do want to get a non-reflective vest.
Watch it, hand held pole if the numbers aren't floating but it says "target locked," don't believe it, it is lying.?ÿ Just make sure it is really locked on the target, not your vest, or the backsight, or a car or something like that.?ÿ The S7 with active target is somewhat better.?ÿ I just make sure the numbers are floating.
Thanks for the replies, I've been using the 5600 since Christ was a corporal and I think I'll probably need a newer version pretty soon.?ÿ I've been looking @ used models on ebay or wherever (I'm through buying new, been there done that).
