I just had to throw this out....

Has anyone else had a problem with the battery door
on their Trimble R10 units?

I've got one with a chunk of the door out, and the gasket exposed.
Same incident must have jammed to door hinge as well.

Of course, no one knows how, or where it could have happened. :-X

Must be a gremlin sneaking around because it happened to my Leica rover last month. I'm the only one who uses it, and I sure as heck can't imagine how the battery door got misaligned like that.

Yes, I heard something rattling around in it for a couple of days, then when I opened the battery a small spring and steel pin fell out. Will be sending it back soon for repair.

YES.

You must baby them from the beginning.
On one of our units, the battery will fall out along the way!

It's a very poor design.

I use my R10 5 days a week, 9+ hours a day. I have never had any issues what so ever. I cant say enough positive things about this receiver. It works awesome as a network rover but it also kicks ass using it as a base and running a gen4 r6 as a rover. Next time let your field crews shell out 30 grand and I guarantee you will not have any more faulty battery door issues!:-P
