No experience with it. However, there have been times that I'd have liked to mount my total station on it, set it up on a mainline track, and then wait for the next freight to come by so I could watch.

No, I haven't ever used one of those, but it is an interesting concept.
When I was in the military, I used a transit that was mounted onto a missle launcher and was used to locate obstacals to fire around or over.
I wonder if the Gedo is self leveling as it moves along the tracks???
