any idea why my total station continually stops reading distances? what happens to the screen with the northings & eastings & rads & rts offsets? Kinda hard to finish my layout with ha only! It works normally upon initial start up but after 1 or 2 points it stops giving me distance:-( I just had the internal battery replaced last year if that has anything to do with it
yours in despair

Check If Your Filter MotorIs Working

Trimbles shoot everything with the laser. Next time you turn it on, listen to hear the motor moving the filter down. The filter reduces the laser return energy so you do not burn the receiving mechanism out. Take a few shots. you probably will not hear the motor before the no distance shots. Since the filter is not needed for reflectorless shots, try that. I had my filter motor repaired years ago and a few months ago some others on he board also had filter motor problems.

Call your dealer and he may have some other checks to do. Mine went back to Trimble but I believe dealers are now up to speed on the repairs.

BTW my filter stuck in the 1/2 way position, so I could do nothing.
