The receiver type has nothing to do with finding the height above the mark, and multiple antenna types may be used with those receivers.?ÿ There is probably a sticker on your antenna that shows where the antenna reference point (ARP) is. In most cases it is the bottom of the antenna assembly where it meets the pole or tribrach adapter.

Find the height of the ARP above the mark and give that number to OPUS. OPUS ignores whatever is in a RINEX file for antenna height or Trimble data file.?ÿ

With the ground plane antennas, I measure slant height (diagonally) from the mark to the ground plane and compute the offsets and right triangle to find the ARP height. Be careful whether you are using the top or bottom of the ground plane.?ÿ I pasted a table in my field book that converts slant height to a correction value, which is a slowly changing function, and then subtract correction from slant to get ARP height.

I figure about 0.75 amp for the 4000sse and ssi, and less-than-new batteries won't provide full rated amp-hours.

To supplement Bill93ƒ??s response, I recommend viewing the information for your specific antenna make/model on the NGS antenna calibration page. Shown below is the link to and copy of the ƒ??DRAWINGƒ? for the Trimble 22020 + GP antenna. Resolution of this drawing is poor. It does provide lots of useful information about the relationship of physical points on the antenna and the reference point. The antenna height to submit is the distance from the surface monument to the antenna reference point.

Check your specific antenna make/model for the location of the antenna reference point.

@danemince@yahoocom

I don't use the camcorder batteries, but rather carry a box with a Yuasa Genesis brand sealed lead acid 7 or 12 amp-hour battery.  Other brands may be good, but I had a disappointment with Duracell so am trying this brand.
