Hello, everyone. I am a student who currently posses very small experience in the surveying world. I am fooling around with the Leica Captivate simulator and the included Inspect a surface app. I am comparing a pointcloud of a 8x10 metres big concrete floor from MS60 and my reference consists of 970 points manually measured with mini-prism (Yes they're manually meaured). My question however is if anyone knows the optimal settings for a good triangulation? I ask this because the points chosen as reference are used to create a TIN in the app. I have noticed that different settings really can have a huge impact on the result, and still I don't feel comfortable playing with numbers until it "looks" good, I also want to know what I'm doing.
There is really only two settings that can be modified:
1. Maximum distance to neighbouring group of points
2. Minimum distance to surface
Also there is a check box for rough triangulation but it is well explained in the app. Thankful for any possible help I might guess.
