Luckily I don't drive a Chevy 😉

a 10" oak, rotten to the core, fell on my truck today.

An IT guy came to my desk to tell me so I got my 45 outa my desk but when I got out there I saw that it lay down on top of the right bedrail (or gunnel) and made not too bad a divot, she's not lame so I didn't have to put her down.

its a 2005 F150 2WD and I own it, don't want to replace it what with my wife's recent real estate exploits. 2 house payments is ridiculous, hopefully the empty one sells soon.

Isn't Ford the one with the aluminum bed?

I'll keep my 2007 Toyota until the wheels fall off and then weld the wheels back on.

Sure, but only on the latest ones. Not the 2005s.

I found out a few years ago when we did a "utility body" conversion on a new F250 that a complete replacement pickup bed can be had for around $1k.?ÿ Bolt off, bolt on.

You can always put on a custom flat bed or make your own from some lumber of your choice and finished in your own style.

My 1989 4WD F150 is presently at the AC shop. It has a 4speed granny and HI LO transfer case.

The tree owner should have some homeowners insurance for you to stake a claim on.

That's what we have always been lead to believe about the USA - "if it moves, sue it".?ÿ

@ Richard Imrie

That is what insurance is for, to not be sued. No wonder insurance companies have all the money. They also keep their own automotive repair and service facilities very busy.

Lawyers have began a time share coverage. For $xxxx dollars a month their firm will represent you in court and prepare any legal doucments.
