I have been using a utility transfer program name "Transit" for several years. My computer crashed and although the comuter wizard was able to retreive the data, he was unable to retreive any programs. I have disk for ALMOST everything.
One that I don't have is for "Transit" to transfer data to and from my Nikon.
Anyone have a copy they could send me?
thanx,
Geezer
Geezer,
Never heard of it. What format does your gun use to send info, and can it send it in ascii, text, cr5, fbk or LandXML formats? What CAD program are you using? Between Carlson Connect and Trimble Link, there's probably a way to work around the lack of Transit.
Dave
Dave,
Actually, I don't know.
I send ascii files to the instrument and I can download coordinates in ascii format. There are also the *.raw files which seem to be a text file saying what the gun did.
"Transit" was a free program and easy to use. I just can't believe I didn't make a copy of the executable file before I opened it.
bummer
thanx,
geezer
I did a quick search and that program appears (to me) to have been produced by Nikon. Perhaps one could dig around on their site and find something.
John,
That would make sense, as i got it just after I purchased my Nikon NPL-362.
I just can't seem to find the transfer program, though.
thanx,
geezer
I have TransIt 2.2 on two 3.5" floppies; its old, I think 1999. Perhaps I could e mail the files; sometimes its working with old 3.5" floppies is like herding cats....Or I could snail mail the floppies to you; I don't use them
Don't know if this is what you are after, but might be worth a look:

IF you don't need the disks, that is probably the safest way. I had a colleague try to send me a file from his computer, and my email provider blocked it, and destroyed the file.
I sent you an email with my contact.
thanx,
I believe the software from the website listed just below your comment is for transferring images from a digital camera.

If he has dropbox or equivalent, he can copy the disks and upload them to his public folder and send you the links for the files. Don't know that I would trust them to the postal service.
I got it. It's in a folder called TRANSIT on my C-drive. Shoot me an email at perrywilliams@earthlink dot net and I'll see if I can send the whole folder and it's contents.
I have version 2.36 can email it to you.
Thanx but I have received a copy which I was able to make work, using an old outdated computer
Thanx again,
geezer
