We are using topcon FC2500 with topsurv 8. We do not have the ability to put spaces in the descriptions when doing topo work. Are we missing something?
No, with version 8 and up they don't allow spaces or other special characters in codes. Go to Topcon University, log in and navigate to Data Entry: Code vs. Note. If the second link doesn't work; navigate to software,topsurv8,training and download the "Data Entry Method of Code versus note"
You can switch to note style data entry but you give up some functionality to do so. Also, version 8.2 came out a few weeks ago - they fixed a bunch of stuff with 8.1 and made a few more changes with 8.2. It won't change your code situation but there are other changes that might make it worth the time to install the free updates.
