Topcon has said a fix will be available in next release of Magnet Tools. This past a new release of Magnet Field came out v3.6.1, have lnot ooked for tools yet. But I have seen the problem described here. Maybe because I mixing in my Sokkia GCX2 receivers.
I don't think we will see a fix for Topcon Tools, it is EOL, or that's what I've been told. Magnet will probably be it.
Aug. 9th, 2017 from Topcon:
*************************************************
An issue has been identified when post processing raw data files in MAGNET Tools. The ephemeris is not being processed from the raw *.tps data files which results in an incorrect timestamp. Also, If the raw data file is converted to RINEX, the navigation file which contains the ephemeris will be absent.
This issue will be addressed in an upcoming release of MAGNET products. A temporary workaround will be to use the raw data converter before importing file into MAGNET Tools for post processing. The latest raw data converter can be found at https://www.topconpositioning.com/support/products/tps2rin-converter
*************************************************
Topcon has since released an update - Magnet Tools v4.3.1
Here are the release notes. I don't see any specific mention of this fix, that doesn't mean it has not been addressed.

Or are we dealing with an Auto manufacturer type recall where it will take a few years to remedy?
There's an article on the Topcon site entitled "Leap Second effect on Topcon GNSS Products -- December 31, 2016" which suggests we may all need new firmware, which I'm in the process of trying to download and install. Here's the link to the article but you have to be registered and signed in on the Topcon site to read it:

I downloaded the new tps2rin-converter which is purported to be a stand alone program and I cannot get it to open/execute in either Win 10 or 7. The zip file extracted fine. I had previously used the rinex converter in Tools but this had made no difference in processing compared to a raw tps file once the file was asked to process.

My Bad: I then found this: TPS2RIN is a Win32 console application which converts TPS data files into RINEX format. It is intended to be used together with PC-CDU, although can be used as a standalone tool. Usage: TPS2RIN -i [-o ] [ [ ]]
Need an old DOS tool or run it in PC-CDU.

When placed in the PC-CDU directory which works in a windows GUI this converter only converts in real time: ? Recording, in real time, the receiver??s raw data measurements on the computer??s disk in TPS and RINEX formats. To generate RINEX files, the executable file tps2rin.exe must be installed on your PC.
The files I am dealing with have been recorded - they just need fixing.
Running that converter in a DOS prompt is cruel and unusual punishment as it is not user friendly. I have a lot of static files all backed up and ready to go Mr. Topcon - now get me the real fix for this dilemma.
Just a note that some of my files are JPS and thus come from older Javad boards and they too are affected (Odyssey, Legacy). Some are newer Topcon files ie Hiper SR.
Has anyone else noted this?
I helped a company post process some files a few years back for a Topcon Mobile Mapping system, static base and kinematic rover at the Lidar mount point - I imagine those guys have to be pretty choked about this kind of disruption in the work flow. Those were some big files.
Come on Topcon - give us some assistance here.
Thank you
I don't think you need to convert all your files. You need only one ephemeris for the entire data set. You can download it from a CORS.
Hi, from Chile.
I have a Hiper L1-L2 , is a old GPS.
I used Topcon Tools but I can't process my works.
I'd don't like to buy another programs because I payed a lot for Topcon Tools.
I tryed to load the ephemeris but Topcon Tools don't work.
Try downloading TEQC. Use it to convert your file to RINEX. Use the option to specify the GPS week (currently 1964). That fixes many older receiver files so the RINEX file will process in other tools.
Magnet Tools was released in Feb 2012. A lot of improvements had been made over the years.
I upgraded my Topcon Tools to Magnet Tools in 2013, when is was Free. I pay maintenance fee to keep up to date. I can't even grasp at using out dated programs, since it won't work with new equipment such as Hiper V, Hiper SR, Hiper HR, Sokkia GCX2, etc. If you want to use constantly evolving Technology such as GNSS, you will eventually have to pay to continue to play. It's the price of doing business.
Are you still using DOS programs also? LOL
