Just received a Topcon 3105W and I was wondering if
the verticle Tangent screw can be switched
to the other side of the instrument easily.

It says in the manual that it is in a different place
depending on the market

Yes it can be changed if your dealer has the part, or will order the part.

Topcon total stations sold in the North American market for many years had the vertical tangent on Face 2 of the instrument. This seems backward to many people. After I got used to the idea, it was not an issue for me.

If it is on Face 2 and you want it relocated to Face 1, most Topcon dealers probably have the part left over from other changes. You can expect to spend $300 or so in parts and labor to change it.

The only disadvantage I found from having it on Face 2 is that you cannot see the centering mark on the tangent screw.
