About 3 weeks ago my Leica 1200 robot was attached to a tripod that was standing next to my truck but was not set up. A client from another job had called to say he was nearby and needed to retrieve his map from me. When I heard him driving up, I turned around and started walking toward the street to hand it to him when somehow the tripod, instrument and all, fell over and hit the pavement. The repair bill is $13,600 for an instrument that is 11 years old.
Fortunately, insurance will cover all but the $500 deductible. I have (will) put that towards a new robot rather than repair one that may be difficult to find parts for in the future because of its age.
