does anyone have any experience with this website?looks like they only accept wire transfer as a form of payment.

please don't say, it's a scam!... Unless you actually got scammed from them.

I won't say it's a scam, but I can point you to a couple people who did:

Complainantt No. 1

Complainant No. 2

Caveat emptor.

I found those with a quick google search... But they are not specific examples of fraud. Still holding out hope. Has anyone had a successful transaction with them?

Being they are based in Indonesia, the odds are not in their favor...

Momma always said "If it sounds too good to be true, it is." If you don't trust Momma or your own intuition, send them your money and let us know how it goes.

Offshore scammers take advantage of the fact that U.S. residents are accustomed to the rule of law; when something goes wrong in a commercial transaction, we assume that the law will provide a remedy. But it's very difficult to reach across borders into a legal system that doesn't adhere to western traditions, and in some countries a claim of "I was cheated!" will be met with "So what?" if it's met with anything at all.

Sending your money to someone in Indonesia and expecting to receive anything in return is an act of faith. In my opinion, it's likely to be a painful learning experience, as well.

Why not?

Why you got to be a hater?

  • Retail prices that approach the cost of production
  • No dealer address
  • No dealer phone number
  • Only accepts wire transfer for payment
  • Represents every manufacturer
  • Not listed as an authorized dealer on Leica or Trimble's web page
  • Located in one of the leading countries for internet scammers

Looks on the up and up to me.

I'm not wiring money out to Indonesia just yet. Relax. I am looking to see if anyone has actually had success with a purchase from them...

I found this one day while whittling my hours away on the web.

rjsurvey dot net (protection software tells me not to follow the link)

Appears to be the same regional type of setup.

I get the e-mails from Tiger Direct.
Right now they have a Pay $60 plus shipping for a 64GB USB Thumbdrive plus a seat of McAfee and get a $60 mail in rebate. I will send in the rebate, toss the McAfee and enjoy a thumbdrive.

Too good but true.

Maybe I could pay for some equipment with the money I got from an uncle that died in a van crash in Nigeria. It appears he had always had a good paying job in the oil industry and had stacks in his apartment that just needed to be gotten out...........

You guys are probably correct. I just wanted to believe that I could get a robotic total station(new) for $6500US. Oh well. I think I am going to go with a used 5603 for about the same price...

Thanks Guys.

Hi

I can only comment on limited dealings with people in Indonesia. I hear lots of stories about how corrupt the country is. If you want a job such as a Policeman you pay a lot of money to get the job, then you take lots back in bribes, kick backs, stolen goods and are very very rich as a result. If you have a complaint and go to the Police the you may need to pay for an investigation and result may depend on which side pays the best.

My wife is Indonesian and needed some documents from Indonesia, birth certificate etc. Even some of her family wanted cash up front to go and sort it for her, and not just for expenses. If the document fee is $1, the clerk at the office wants $1000 cash payment and you will get your document right away. If you don't pay, you get the run around it could be several visits and weeks later.

On the flip side some things are very cheap in Indonesia, such as shoes and clothes and my wife buys a few items from her sisters now and then.

The more I hear from Indonesian people who have migrated to New Zealand, the less I want to visit the place.

I would not send money there!
