If any of those pieces of gear are flimsy (and judging by price, most likely) they are more of a danger to the user than worth it. Cheap tools made in China scare me.
I use a small Estwing axe. It holds an edge and will chop down anything under a 6" tree pretty fast. I just need to keep from burying it in my foot or leg and not try to hard, let it do the work.
Those little folding saws are pretty handy, I need to get one. Ace hardware has a nice sized folding saw that fits in your back vest pocket and is a really useful tool.
I'm not sure where they are made, but SOG seems to have a great reputation from what I read after Googling. I read some reviews where people were saying the SOG multi-tools were far better than Leatherman tools. I own a Leatherman and can't imagine it getting any better.
Woot typically has the lowest prices on their items because, from my experience, they are mostly offering closeout stuff or overstocked items.
Anyway, I don't know how good these tools really are, but the reviews for SOG in general were great, so I thought someone here might find them useful.
Thanks for the link. I just had a not too good experience with Amazon and I'm looking to use other retailers for that business in the future.
FYI: Woot deals are 1 day only and can sellout at any time.
That would make a nice little camping set.
I would use those for surveying but, ....
I could sure use those on the metro.

That serrated shovel would be nice for french bread and buckets of brie as well.
SOG makes good stuff. These 3 tools (or ones that looks just like them) retail for $94 on the SOG site. I bought a set for my son, thanks to Wendels post.
