The number turned out to be 78. Of which, 14 were building offset corners and the balance were curb and gutter. Lots of sand. Backhoe with a huge steel comb was still combing the mesquite out of the ground and loading trucks, so the site was not completely clear but manageable.

Unfortunately I found a probably 60-80 year old 1-1/2 inch iron pipe marked for section corner sitting on its side on top of the ground with no clue as to original location. Not sure if it would have mattered anyway since it fell within the area of the parking lot. Even if I coulda found the old hole, it would be knocked out again later when they started their form boards. Got a souvenir for the office.

Thank god for four wheel drive in that soft sand. They had a loader on standby to push all the stuck vehicles out of the sand. Only 71 more points to set in this half of the project.

Well today i set 1000 points that where 1 ft apart the crew came to
$400.00 and the wood hubs $1000.00 $ 1.00 each and fuel 200.00
thus $1600.00 cost my daily rate for crew $1650.00

I just lost $50.00 buck
