They cut it off twice and it was still too short!

JB Weld can fix that - a whole lotta JB Weld.....
They actually had much bigger problems early on in the construction. The high wire system they used to deliver the materials to the span and it's footings, collapsed and had to be re-built. Open in 2010, it's really impressive. I'd love to know whether there are inspection catwalks within the spans.

My bet is they had to order special 10' thick expansion material to stuff in the crack. :snarky:
